“Nobody Is Gonna Save You” is a dream I have had for years and years.
I do not claim to be an expert. I have just lived a very interesting life and I want to tell my story, with the hopes that it will be someone’s survival.
My cousin Tyson was the first person to turn me on to the world of Self-Help. He gave me a copy of Jen Sincero’s “You Are A Bad Ass” and it became my bible. In the recommended reading section, you can see which books I have read and I strongly advise you read them for yourself.
What I have learned the most about self-help books is that not one size fits all. You may only take one paragraph from an entire book, but if that works for you, it’s more power to ya!
The reason this is called “Nobody Is Gonna Save You”, is because I realized along the way that the only person I could look up to that would make real change in my life was myself. That’s why I am saying I am no expert. My writing style may be all over the place. I even debated on using the word “gonna” in the title because it’s not grammatically correct. But I love words like “gonna” and “ain’t” and “wanna” etc. The message matters more than the proper grammar. I’m just a regular dude. I’m nothing special. Plus everybody has spell check now!
I have struggled with alcoholism, depression, grief, anxiety, self-doubt, suicidal thoughts, discipline and so much more. But I never gave up on myself.
When I see somebody going through something similar, I always try my best to be there for the person. Whether it’s from a far or from direct contact, I want others to know they are not alone in any fight they are fighting. That’s why I am doing this!
I still have my bad days and my doubts from time to time, but I keep on trying to improve myself. This isn’t a sprint baby, it’s a marathon!!!!
Through strange analogies and metaphors I am so excited to make a change in the world.
